We present the Best European Cities, based on years of traveling to Europe and the experience of more than 50 years in the Travel Industry.

I have chosen among the best, a few of those that are not mentioned so many times in this website but are as great as the most famous ones.

Barcelona, Spain

This is one of my favorite cities in Europe. We’ve been there many times and every trip we discover a new spot or a new restaurant.

From the mountains all the way to the Mediterranean Sea, it is a gem of which Catalonians and all Spaniards can be proud of.

Walk through the Gothic Sector and enjoy every building one by one until you reach the Palau de la Música. Walk the famous Rambla from Catalunya Square all the way to the Sea and on the way stop at La Boqueria, the famous food market of Barcelona.

Enjoy the building by Gaudi and Domenech i Montaner, such as La Pedrera. Then go all the way to Parc Guell and enjoy a day of

Bruges, Belgium

This is a well-preserved Belgian city with canals and cobblestone streets, built between the 12th and 15th centuries. Here you feel you are in a medieval fairytale. Don’t miss a visit to the Church of our Lady for a viewing of Michelangelo’s Madonna and Child.

Lucerne, Switzerland

This is the typical Swiss storybook city, with a colorful Old Town. Settled on the shores of Lake Lucerne, it is a popular departure point for the Swiss Alps, which are visible from town.

Walk the oldest covered bridge in Europe the Kapellbrücke and sample traditional Lucerne dishes like veal with cream sauce and rösti.

Salzburg, Austria

Made famous by Mozart first and the Von Trapps years later, this city is divided by the Salzach River. Its Old City is pedestrian only and stands on the left bank of the river.

The lovely Capital of Portugal is a best kept secret. When we were there for the first time, we discovered a gorgeous city with many monuments, old buildings and wide avenues. The Technology Museum is a must and countless shops and places for entertainment.

Munich, Germany

This Bavarian metropolis, draws most of its crowds during Oktoberfest, but year-round the city attracts many to its walkable historic center, palatial parks and fine dining and drinking.

Edinburgh, Scotland

The Capital of Scotland is a unique city with a Medieval Old Town, a regal castle and a “New Town” from the 1800s.

Visit the National Museum of Scotland, enjoy dinner in one of its restaurants and explore the brewing scene

Tallinn, Estonia

This is a postcard town, the best place to start a tour of the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The amazing Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an example of the vast history of Estonia as part of the Russian Empire.

Helsinki, the Capital of Finland is just a ferry ride away on the Baltic. Some say that Tallinn is today the new Prague.

The remarkable Old Town is one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its opulent architecture of Gothic buildings. And don’t miss a visit to St Olaf Church for a great view of the city from the top.

Copenhagen, Denmark

One more of my favorite cities in Europe. Just walking on Stroget pedestrian street can make my day.

Visit the Tivoli one of the oldest amusement parks in Europe, marvel at Christianborg Palace and see the changing of the guard. Then walk alongside Nyhavn and feel the real taste of this Nordic interesting city.

Bergen, Norway

This second largest city of Norway is famous for its Bryggen Quarter and the Seven Mountains, which surround the town

One of Norway’s biggest events, the Bergen International Festival, has been held here every year since 1953, and showcases international and Norwegian music, dance, literature, visual arts, folklore, and more over the course of two weeks every spring.
